I ran across this very interesting video series on the All Things Digital website. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates on stage at the same time sharing their stories. Google Earth Hour

Imagine my surprise today when I pulled up Google to do a quick search and was presented with the first major change to the interface since I was first introduced! Not to worry though, Google is just trying to make people in the United States aware of power conservation efforts. The normal interface should return tomorrow.

Living Dangerously with Wordpress 2.5 RC2

Being one that always loves to play around with new things, I wanted to upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 RC2 on my production site but being production I didn’t initially want to risk it. Instead I did a quick install on my development server which took less than 5 minutes and gave things a run through. I was so impressed by the new admin interface and integrated media manager that I decided to throw caution to the wind and go ahead and upgrade. First Impression: Ruby on Rails

My travel plans fell through this spring break, so I finally had some time to sit down and take a look at Ruby and the Rails framework — a task that has been on my to do list for over a year. I acquired Build Your Own Ruby on Rails Web Application by Patrick Lenz and got to it. My first thoughts as I started was “gee, this is a lot like Python.” We’ve got an interactive shell at our disposal and the syntax is more natural than say C++.
